Private Immersive Guided Tour of the Vatican City

Vatican private guided tours | Due to lack of knowledge or time, most visitors to Rome will stop by and visit the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, or the Vatican Museums. At times, they manage to see only one or two of these sites. We have curated a special 5-hour tour that takes visitors to see other gems too! The advantage of this tour is that your tickets are Skip The Line tickets ensuring you gain quicker entry to the attractions without waiting in long snaking lines. Yes, St Peter’s Basilica has free entry, but are you willing to wait for hours to get in?
This tour also takes you to see Bramante Staircase and Niccoline Chapel which are generally not so accessible to the general public.
Vatican Museums – Niccoline Chapel
Vatican private guided tours | Your official private guide will meet you at the entrance of the Vatican Museums. The guides are highly qualified, and they have deep knowledge of Art, History and Archaeology. Your tour starts at the Niccolini Chapel which is normally closed to the public.
Pope Nicholas V built the Niccoline Chapel for his private residence. There are several noted of artworks contained in this Chapel. This Chapel is renowned for the Frescos painted by Fra Angelico and his assistants which depict scenes of the lives of St. Laurence and St. Stephen – Christian martyrs. If you look up at the ceiling, you are in for a visual treat as you see the blue vault decorated with figures of the four Evangelists – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John surrounded by stars.
Vatican Museums – Bramante Staircase
Private Vatican guided tours | Anyone can build a staircase but imagine building a staircase in the shape of a double-helix, and that too in the 16th Century! Well, Bramante did it. He introduced the High Renaissance style to Rome and where Michelangelo executed the plan Bramante had for St Peter’s Basilica. The staircase was built for access from the street level for horses and mules to carry heavy items back and forth all the way up to the Papal apartments.
Vatican Museums – Raphael’s Rooms
Private Vatican tours | Overlooking the south side of the Belvedere Courtyard, the Raphael Rooms are located on the third floor of the Vatican Museums. Pope Julius commissioned these rooms and they were turned into stunning frescos painted by Raphael and his students over the next fifteen years or so. Art, history, law, philosophy are all depicted in the stunning artworks in each room.
Sistine Chapel/ St Peter’s Basilica

- There is a dress code to the Vatican which applies to children too. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
- If Saint Peter’s Basilica is closed for a religious function at short notice as it is a working church, you will be spending more time in the Vatican gallery’s with your private guide.
- The Vatican Museums get rather busy during summer and after a bank holiday.
