Meeting Point : Entrance of Vatican Museums, by the marble arch at the bottom of the steps.
You start with skipping the line entrance to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel and then to a fast track entry to St Peter’s Basilica. This will cut waiting time drastically and allow your children to explore the Vatican without stress.

We will pique the curiosity of the kids and while they’re having fun, they will learn fascinating facts about art in history. The kids will learn about the Popes, about Vatican City, the Romans the Greeks and even the influence of the Egyptians by entering the Egyptian Museum and viewing some of the most fascinating artefacts ever discovered. In the Round Hall, the kids will see the huge bathtub of emperor Nero and discover what the path is made of.
No Vatican kids for tour is complete without these 3 galleries – Candelabra Gallery ,Gallery of Tapestries, Gallery of Maps. Our private guides are trained to use simple language so that children understand about the art and history of Rome without being overwhelmed by technical jargon.
If there is spare time, your guide will also take you to the Carriage Pavilion located in the Vatican Museums. Here you will be able to see how the popes journeyed in carriages pulled by handsome horses. This section is subject to specific opening times.
The next stop is the Sistine Chapel and here the children can crane their necks to look at the spectacular ceiling frescos by Michelangelo and the guide will share fascinating stories of this master painter.
St. Peter’s Basilica
Now, the kids and their family will be entering one of the most sacred sites in the world, St Peter’s Basilica. View the dome designed by Michelangelo and learn about the secrets of what is found below the Basilica.
St. Peter’s Square
Your tour ends here, and the kids are entertained with interesting stories of this square and are now free to explore.

- There is a dress code to the Vatican which applies to children too. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
- If Saint Peter’s Basilica is closed for a religious function at short notice as it is a working church, you will be spending more time in the Vatican gallery’s with your private guide.
- The Vatican Museums get rather busy during summer and after a bank holiday.
- If a disabled visitor is able to produce a certificate showing that they are more than 74% disabled, entry to the Vatican museums is free of charge.
